Mock Oral Examinations and Review Session

I run a mock oral examination for PhD students. You provide me with your thesis. I read it, construct questions and then conduct a (mock) examination.

I am an experienced and credentialed line editor and developmental editor. I am also an experienced writer, having published 20 books and hundreds of academic articles and journalism.

Leading Reading and Writing Groups and Retreats

It is difficult to read and write with discipline, consistency and momentum. Reading and writing groups have been shown to enhance information literacy and media literacy skills.

Meet Tara

My name is Tara Brabazon.  I am a professor who has worked in 10 universities in 4 countries.  I have published 20 books, 8 audiobooks, over 350 academic articles, and hundreds of articles of journalism, including for the Times Higher Education.  I have won six teaching awards around the world and been acknowledged with an Order of Australia (AM) for my contribution to higher education.

I have held the roles of dean, head of school, head of department, and institutional head of research.  I graduated from three bachelor degrees:  a Bachelor of Arts (with first class honours), Bachelor of Literature and Communication, and a Bachelor of Education.  I have two graduate diplomas:  in Internet Studies and Gastronomic Tourism.  I hold four masters degrees:  MA by Research (passed with distinction), Master of Leadership, Master of Letters in Cultural Studies, and a Masters of Education (with first class honours).  I also have a PhD, passed without correction.  I also gained certifications as a Death Doula and in the four coaching disciplines – time management, executive, wellness and life – alongside a Coaching for Managers certification from University of California Davis.

I am an awarded higher degree supervisor and advisor, alongside a highly successful rescue supervisor.  I am also a podcaster, being one of the first academic podcasters in 2006, and a vlogger.  My weekly videos are used around the world to inspire, provoke, challenge and enable.
